In 1843, William Matheson founded the Glenmorangie Distillery in the Scottish Highlands.
Inspired by the Distillery’s peaceful surroundings on the banks of the Dornoch Firth, he brought forth a pioneering single malt whisky wonderfully complex and exceptionally smooth.
Ever since, Glenmorangie has pursued their craft with uncompromising dedication – endlessly creative in their quest for perfection. To this day, the Distillery’s provenance is honoured with award-winning single malt.
Glenmorangie’s spirit is distilled in Scotland’s tallest stills, which are 8 metres high. This allows only the very lightest and purest vapours make it to the top, giving a smoother, more elegant whisky.
The Glenmorangie spirit is matured in the finest oak casks. The casks are only ever used twice, ensuring that the maximum amount of flavour is always extracted during maturation, delivering a rounder taste.
The Men of Tain are the select craftsmen entrusted with the secrets of Glenmorangie distillery. Men whose dedication, skill and attention to detail proves that the Glenmorangie story is not just about whisky, it’s also about people. And, in the hands of the guardians of the spirit, the Men of Tain will surely delight malt whisky lovers for generations to come.
