Founders of The Jackal, Darren Sital-Singh and Dan Tucker, have repositioned their creative content agency as The Jackal Studio with a focus on luxury brands and engaging with affluent, urban men.

The two co-founders felt a need to bring their creative, content and production services under The Jackal banner to offer a more coherent vision for the brand and complement its media business; and are already working with luxury and premium brands including Floris London, Oris Watches, Graff, Turnbull & Asser, London Sock Company and Trunk Clothiers.

Sital Singh, co-founder and managing director says ‘For the last 18 months we’ve been successfully engaging with affluent, urban men through The Jackal and our understanding of their wants, needs and desires gives us a real advantage when working with luxury and premium brands to craft their own brand storytelling.’

Tucker, co-founder and creative director adds ‘affluent consumers think differently today. The digital world has changed the retail market, and consumer decisions are more informed than ever before. To be a “luxury” brand today is not enough. Now, craft, provenance and a sense of authenticity inform high-end purchasing decisions. We’re living in a world that asks brands to communicate honestly with customers and evolve their storytelling to cut through a saturated market; capturing a demanding audience’s attention and imagination. The Jackal Studio is well placed to help brands achieve this.’

The co-founders recently worked with luxury perfumer, Floris London, on a project aimed at broadening the brand’s appeal to a younger, more diverse customer. ‘Floris isn’t just a traditional British heritage perfumer.’ Says Tucker. ‘The house is evolving to appeal to a younger brand-aware luxury consumer. We were tasked with contemporising the brand’s image. First, we injected a sense of modernity into Floris’s design language and tone of voice through its print materials, before directing a new brand film to demonstrate how the house’s story reaches far beyond the walls of 89 Jermyn Street.’ The video is now live and can be viewed here.

The Jackal

The Jackal is a magazine brand aimed at AB Londoner commuters. It carries a mix of style advice, profiles, features, culture, comment, travel, cars, tech and luxury products. It is produced on quality stocks, perfect bound, and distributed for free into the hands of commuters, primarily through central London transport hubs and in airports, high-end businesses and upmarket establishments.

It partners with luxury advertisers, who are under-served by the mainstream media offering in the freemium space. The Jackal launched in March 2017, and has now published seven issues of the magazine, with an ABC audited circulation of 99,568, making it the UK’s second largest upmarket men’s lifestyle title, and one summer newspaper with a circulation of 25,000. Through thejackalmagazine.com, three social channels (@thejackalmag) and a weekly email, The Jackal distills a daily dose of style, comment and culture to its growing audience.

In 2019 The Jackal will increase its publishing frequency to eight issues of the magazine and two summer newspapers, plus further content across online, social, email and via events.
