More than a design resource, it is a thriving platform, both creatively and commercially, for a remarkably dynamic industry. It is the largest of its kind in Europe and well-established as a premier design destination. With expansion high on the agenda, there has been a significant influx of new arrivals and the development of Design Centre East to showcase more global talent.

Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour is inspiring; it is the first port of call for interior designers, architects and style-seekers. In fact, it is a measure of the Design Centre’s influence that people fly in from all over the world to see what is on the style radar there. What is on offer is ‘couture for the home’. With a vast array of great British brands as well as star names from overseas, it is pretty matchless when it comes down to choice. Showcasing the highest expressions of creativity, it brings together not only fabrics and wallcoverings, but also, furniture, lighting, accessories, kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor living, trimmings, hardware, tiles and carpets.

What you see in the showrooms is just the starting point. The showrooms cater not only for those who have a passion for creating their own homes, but for designers who are working on the interiors of famous hotels, bars, restaurants, boutiques and superyachts. Key values of creativity and technical ability lie at the heart of so much of the offering. Visitors can see designs of character, complexity and originality, alongside great workmanship and artistry up close, all telling a wider story of craftsmanship and authenticity. Bespoke products is another forte – with countless showrooms creating tailor-made pieces for one-of-a-kind spaces.

Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour plays a central role in Britain’s cultural landscape, supporting a broad spectrum of creative disciplines across the design agenda. Recent exhibitions have included ‘Marilyn Monroe: Legacy of a Legend’ and ‘Art & Interiors’ showing artwork that has inspired leading designers. Every year it holds Focus and London Design Week where visitors can engage with the industry’s top influencers and big thinkers. The ‘Conversations in Design’ programme has gained much momentum, too, with renowned names sharing their design expertise. Dedicated events include SuperyachtDesign Week which offers insights from the marine world and beyond.

Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour not only has its pulse firmly on global trends, but is setting them. With access to the latest new design directions, it offers unprecedented access to the pieces and people making waves via dedicated publications or via social media that reaches out to a digital audience.

New initiatives are a constant refrain, offering specialist interest and inspiration. From launches and creative showcases to pop-ups and seated dinners, collaborations with luxury brand partnerships play a key role in encouraging exchange of ideas and social interaction. There is even Design Club, a private members’ club for like-minded people in the design and creative industries.

With so much to inspire, visitors to Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour are encouraged to spend time in the domes and Design Centre East. As well as scouring the showrooms for everything they need, they can browse in the specialist bookshop, lunch at the Design or Dome Cafés or get some gentle guidance from Personal Shopping Service. No wonder visitors come back again and again. A single visit is rarely enough.
