Walpole US Trade Mission to New York 2018 Day Three

We began the day by unveiling the findings of a new report, in association with Brand Finance, that found - thanks predominantly to the young Royals - 76% of Americans are now more favourable towards brand UK.  Harrods’ MD and Walpole Chairman Michael Ward; Walpole’s Helen Brocklebank; Jace Tyrrell, CEO of New West End Company; Richard Turner, Department for International Trade Regional Director; Alex Haigh, Director of Brand Finance; and Walpole’s Charlotte Keesing (moderator) discussed the findings and were joined by a small group of journalists for the event.

We ended our trip with the British Luxury Media Showcase at The Glass Houses in Chelsea; a beautifully curated, experiential event, the Showcase demonstrated the unique qualities of British luxury and the 18 brands who joined us in New York - Aurelia Probiotic Skincare, Belmond, Chapel Down, Cowdray Estate, Ettinger, Farrow & Ball, Glenmorangie, Historic Royal Palaces, JJ Corry, Johnstons of Elgin, Kathryn Sargent, Molton Brown, Rapport London, Richard Brendon, Royal Salute, Stephen Einhorn, The Royal Mint, and The Last Drop Distillers - to key US editors, influencers and press. The Showcase - and our mission to New York - closed with the US launch of the Richard Brendon x Jancis Robinson Collection: the result of a partnership between celebrated product designer Richard Brendon and world-renowned wine expert Jancis Robinson.
