Stephen Alden is Chief Executive Officer of Maybourne Hotel Group, a position he has held since 2006, he also sits on the company’s Board of Directors.
Stephen joined Maybourne to spearhead the development and enhancement of three of the world’s most renowned hotels: Claridge’s, Connaught and The Berkeley. Since his appointment, his focus has been on the development of the company’s management, operating infrastructure, capital investment and brand strategy that today drives Maybourne's industry leading performance.
Immediately prior to joining Maybourne, Stephen led the St. Regis and Luxury Collections brand teams at Starwood based in New York. Between 1996 and 2003 he was part of the transition team when ITT Sheraton acquired Ciga Hotels, ultimately taking on the role of Vice President, Director of Operations for Italy and Malta, based in Rome.
An experienced hotelier, Stephen has had a distinguished career in the luxury hotel industry in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. Stephen serves on the Board of London First, an influential business organisation with the mission to make London the best city in the world in which to do business.
Stephen was born in Malta and graduated in International Hotel Management from the Centre International de Glion in Switzerland.
