London Symphony Orchestra
The LSO is London's longest-established orchestra and over recent years has built up an unrivalled reputation for excellence and innovation, including a policy of commissioning new works and giving world premieres.Since taking up its residency at the Barbican Centre in the City of London, the LSO has pioneered multi-disciplinary festivals, establishing them as a central feature in London's cultural life. The Orchestra regularly tours in Europe, American and Japan, and also holds an annual residency in New York. Concert giving is just one part of the Orchestra's life. The LSO records with the world's leading artists, has its own recording label LSO LIVE, provides film soundtracks (including the Star Wars movies) and is committed to education work.
