Join Walpole and award-winning author and broadcaster Elizabeth Day for dinner at Home House, where Elizabeth will be sharing insights from her new book 'How to Fail', in conversation with Helen Brocklebank. “If I examined my life,” writes Elizabeth Day in her new book, ‘How To Fail’, “I knew that the lessons bequeathed by episodes of failure were ineffably more profound than anything I had gleaned from its slippery shadow-twin, success.” Inspired by her popular podcast series of the same name, ‘How to Fail’ is Day’s memoir-meets-manifesto, based on the simple yet incredibly powerful premise that understanding why we fail will ultimately make us stronger. Learning to embrace failure will, she writes, “build up the muscle of our emotional resilience…[and]… next time something goes wrong, we are better equipped to deal with it”.  Importantly, for women looking to forge ahead in a career in luxury, if we can reduce our fear of failure and silence the little voice in our heads telling us it might all go wrong,  it means we are more likely to take the inevitable risks that come with pursuing our ambitions and reaching for our potential. The evening will begin with a Champagne reception at 6.30pm followed by dinner. Walpole CEO, Helen Brocklebank will be talking to Elizabeth Day about her book, and about lessons we can all take home to help make us stronger, more confident and more empowered.
