Catchpole & Rye
Catchpole & Rye may hail from a small English village in Kent, but this fine bathroom company has tapped into a niche market to become one of Britain’s most sought after luxury brands with a growing international reputation.
The brand’s roots grew from a passion to selling and restoring antique baths and sanitary ware. ‘To create something original, you must first fully understand the past,’ is the maxim to which Catchpole & Rye stays true.
This appreciation and respect for antiques is how their current collection has evolved into the luxurious designs they offer today. Their attention to detail and quality is what distinguishes a Catchpole and Rye bathroom from others, which is why they are frequently called upon to undertake prestigious projects from around the world; from stately homes and castles to boutique hotels and commercial establishments.
The company is proudly committed to British manufacturing and produces most of its collection of cast-iron baths at its foundry in Kent. Skilled and experienced craftsmen hand-finish each product to ensure the upmost qualify, it can up to a week for a highly skilled polisher to hand-polish a cast-iron bath to its signature glimmering sheen. Catchpole & Rye’s many offerings include copper and brass baths, cast-iron baths, elegant console basins, cast-metal cisterns, marble washstands, wooden vanity units and a range of quality taps and showers.
For the ultimate in personalisation, baths and cisterns can be made bespoke with cast initials, dates, logos or even coats of arms, offering a true bespoke service to designers and clients alike. The expansion of the brand’s on-site capability also gives them greater quality control and customers are becoming increasingly appreciative of the brand’s level of craftsmanship.
With their headquarters and workshops in Pluckley, Kent as well as two storey showroom in Royal Tunbridge Wells, spring 2019 will see its flagship showroom on London’s Fulham Road expanding into the neighbouring space to accommodate its ever-increasing collection.
