Helen Amy Murray
Artist and designer Helen Amy Murray founded her eponymous studio in 2002. Since then she has gained many accolades for the beauty and originality of her work.
Experimenting extensively with texture, colour, depth and light, she takes a thoughtful and considered approach to her creative process, working methodically to create complex and exquisitely detailed hand-sculpted works of art for leading interior designers, art consultants and private collectors around the world.
The Helen Amy Murray studio is based in the heart of East London and now numbers 12 employees. Here each unique artwork is conceived and meticulously hand-crafted in leather, suede and silk by Helen and her team of highly-skilled artisans. Flora and fauna are a core influence, along with the geometry, pattern and repetition found within nature.
Projects vary in form and scale, from framed artworks to entire wall installations and bespoke upholstery for hotels, restaurants, boutiques, private residences, superyachts and private jets. Clients include Christian Dior, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Longchamp, The Peninsula Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, Ralph & Russo and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. Helen Amy Murray has also created an eponymous collection for The Rug Company.
Helen’s collectable artworks have been shown at The Royal Academy of Arts, V&A and Somerset House. She is currently working on a new series of artworks, which is independent from the studio’s commissions. Helen Amy Murray took part in the first ever Crafted programme and was a Walpole Brand of Tomorrow in 2017.
