21 Days of Christmas | DAKS Christmas Scarf Initiative
Luxury heritage brand DAKS has partnered with The Big Issue Foundation charity for Christmas time donation.
Homelessness is something often at the forefront of our minds at Christmas as the winter chill begins to creep in, and DAKS, a holder of three Royal Warrants and producer of some of the world’s finest luxury clothing, have pledged to donate 10% of all scarf sales this winter to The Big Issue Foundation.
The luxury scarves themselves are made of 100% fine cashmere and feature the brand’s iconic trademarked ‘House Check’ print. They are available via the official DAKS website and at the DAKS flagship store at 10 Old Bond Street, London. Prices start at is £95.
The Big Issue Foundation help people who are excluded from mainstream society, financially impoverished and disadvantaged in multiple ways. They seek to address the fundamental issues attached to social and financial exclusion through the provision of concrete support to change lives for good.
Commenting on the project, Jo Smith, DAKS General Manager said: “We’re delighted to be donating 10% of our scarf sales to The Big Issue Foundation this Christmas. The charity element gives more depth and meaning to Christmas shopping, which I think is important to people.”
Serena Crisp, Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy, The Big Issue Foundation added:
“We are delighted to form a partnership with DAKS and very grateful that a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of their scarves, during the winter season, will be gifted towards the transformational work of The Big Issue Foundation; positively impacting the lives of Big Issue vendors.” Serena Crisp, Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy, The Big Issue Foundation.
