Brand Snapshot | Freight Brokers introduces Carbon Neutral shipping for the fashion industry
Freight Brokers, the London-based family-run specialist firm, and Walpole partner, offers an environmentally-conscious first with DHL.
From the 1st of March 2019 all worldwide consignments handled by specialist fashion industry shipper Freight Brokers via DHL will be certified as Carbon Neutral. This is believed to be a first for the fashion sector service provider.
As part of the GoGreen Climate Neutral initiative from Deutsche Post DHL Group, Freight Brokers’ clients will be assured that the movement of their worldwide shipments will be assessed as being carbon-neutral.
The greenhouse gas emissions generated by such global transportation and logistics will be offset by DHL’s support of climate protection projects around the world, in countries as far apart as Lesotho and Cambodia, Panama and China.
Each Freight Brokers client will receive a quarterly report showing in detail how much carbon has been displaced against each individual shipment, as well as an annual certificate from DHL. Their shipments will be listed on special GO GREEN airwaybills and will be supplied with box stickers from Freight Brokers to promote the environmentally-sensitive initiative to their customers and business partners.
Charles Keisner, founder and managing director of Freight Brokers, said: “For more than a year we have worked hard to arrange carbon neutral shipping with our main carrier DHL, so that all our clients can partake in something really special, at no additional cost. This is a strong and positive message for our fashion industry clients to send to their customers and show their support in protecting Planet Earth.”
Based in north London, Freight Brokers was established in 2005 as a specialist service for the fashion industry. Run by Charles Keisner and his son Ben, it works with more than 150 fashion industry clients in the UK, ranging from multinational retailers to Savile Row tailors, and from young creative companies to luxury brands in the Walpole group.
