Brand Snapshot | Johnstons of Elgin x Cheaney
This Autumn/Winter, Johnstons of Elgin unveils its collaboration with English footwear brand Cheaney. Combining the strongest elements of both brands’ DNA and expertise, the collection consists of eight different shoe styles spanning boots, shoes and sneakers to fit all occasions. Using the finest quality fabrics, each shoe celebrates the best of British textiles and authentic manufacturing.
The Raeburn mix country boot, taken from the original Cheaney tweed boot, is adjusted to give a unique twist, incorporating the Raeburn brown cloth. This boot features a tartan lining as a nod to Johnstons and is finished with a Goodyear welted commando rubber sole. A second boot, inspired by the same Cheaney tweed boot, is available in burgundy, using the finest hand burnished Italian calf, featuring a Goodyear welted double leather sole.
The Raeburn mix country shoe – a popular classic – takes inspiration from Johnstons combining Raeburn cloth with a double burnished grain leather, and finished with a Goodyear welted commando rubber sole. A classic black grain brogue is reworked and given a new lease of life, with a Goodyear welted double leather sole. Finally, a rare Hybrid sneaker made exclusively in England combines the best of both brands.
Available in two colours, black leather combined with Johnstons 90% merino and 10% cashmere cloth on the upper, and Bronze Expresso leather. Each sneaker is made complete with a Goodyear welted Vibram wedged rubber sole for ultimate durability.
The Johnstons of Elgin man is a modern urban sophisticate, as comfortable travelling the world as he is on home ground. He wears his distinctive personality with a confidence reflected in a wardrobe of world exclusives in innovative fabrics sculpted and tailored in the artisan style.
Alan Scott, Creative Director at Johnstons of Elgin said: “I am extremely excited to be working with Cheaney and to unveil this footwear collection. It is rare to find a company that shares a similar heritage and manufacturing ethos as us and working together has proved to be a very rewarding process.”
