Brand Snapshot | The Savoy’s ultimate Monet experience
To celebrate their collaboration with The National Gallery and its new Monet exhibition, The Credit Suisse Exhibition: Monet & Architecture, 9 April – 29 July 2018, The Savoy has created the Ultimate Monet Experience.
Guests will be welcomed for a one-night stay in the Claude Monet Personality Suite at The Savoy, with the very river view that inspired the great impressionist artist as their backdrop.
Five of the original paintings that Monet created of the views from his rooms at The Savoy will be on display in the Monet & Architecture exhibition at the National Gallery. This exhibition marks the first of its kind, taking a look at Monet’s career through the buildings he painted; in Normandy, in Rouen, in Paris, London and Venice.
Monet arrived in London in January 1901 and stayed at The Savoy, as he always did. From his rooms, he enjoyed panoramic views over the River Thames with Charing Cross Bridge to the right and Waterloo Bridge to the left. Monet painted some of his most famous works from these views and, in a 1900 letter to his wife Alice, he wrote ‘When I got up I was terrified to see that there was no fog, not even the shadow of a fog. I was devastated…but little by little the smoke and fog returned’. In a letter from the same year on Savoy writing paper, Monet went so far as to say, ‘London would be quite ugly if it was not for the fog’.
The Ultimate Monet Experience includes a one-night stay in the Monet Suite with full English breakfast, Monet welcome amenity, dinner at Kaspar’s, a Monet Moments cocktail per guest in the American Bar, a Monet-inspired Historical Tour, and two tickets to the Monet & Architecture exhibition at The National Gallery.
Available for reservations from 9 April to 29 July, priced from £2,295.00 inc VAT per package, based on two people sharing, additional nights available on request. To book please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call +44 (0)207 386 4343.
