Exclusive Global Blue Lounge for VIP UHNW Globe Shoppers
On the 20th September, the Global Blue London Lounge officially opened the doors to the London lounge with an opening ceremony that gathered 120 guests, including London’s top fashion houses and partners.
Offering an elegant and chic affair, the event featured a harpist from the London Philharmonic Orchestra, a champagne tasting from Perrier-Jouët, the official London champagne partner, and a selection of Fortnum & Mason treats for guests. Fortnum & Mason is a key partner to the lounge, providing the ultimate British tea experience to guests. The lounge has welcomed over 600 guests and refunded almost 500 customers since it opened to Globe Shoppers on 24th August and is anticipated to greet over 40,000 guests in its first year. Our lounge network across Europe is now at a total of seven, with others located in Milan, Rome, Venice, Madrid, Munich and Paris.
Global Blue’s London Lounge is the first of its kind in the UK market, which offers brands a new and unique way to connect with VIP Globe Shoppers through measurable and multi-channel marketing opportunities when they are at destination and close to their local stores.
The London Lounge is Global Blue’s second largest, with four rooms across 240 sq. metres. Each room offers a variety of marketing opportunities, providing brands with a unique space to engage with affluent shoppers. Within the lounge, brands have the option to takeover an entire room, allowing them to tell their story through creative means such as showcasing craftsmanship or broadcasting runway shows through VR headsets.
During their time in the lounge, guests enjoy a seamless experience while they relax, refresh and refund. The early tax free refunding service in the lounge puts cash back into the hands of affluent Globe Shoppers, boosting their spending in the West End and allowing them to optimise their time at the airport. Guests at the London Lounge also benefit from the service of five multi-lingual experts, complimentary Wi-Fi access and a dedicated shopping consultancy.
Merchants who are confirmed to collaborate with the London Lounge in 2018 include MaxMara, Aquazzura, Fortnum & Mason and Longchamp, with other names to be announced soon. Fortnum & Mason will be delivering a quintessential British tea experience and Bulgari taking over the entire VIP room.
After targeting and connecting with the VIP Globe Shoppers at the London Lounge, merchants can measure the impact of their campaigns via Global Blue’s tracking system, which examines new leads, drive-to-store activations and conversions in-store.
The London Lounge is located on Albermarle Street in the heart of Mayfair and open from 10am until 7pm Monday to Saturday and 12pm until 6.30pm on Sunday. Global Blue currently has lounges in Milan, Rome, Venice, Madrid, Munich and Paris.
