The Hari’s new Truffle Afternoon Tea

The Hari Hotel has announced details of a new Truffle Afternoon Tea at its contemporary Italian restaurant, Il Pampero.

A first of its kind for Afternoon Tea in London, the Truffle Afternoon Tea has been designed by Executive Chef Claudio Covino and Head Pastry Chef Riccardo Zanetti. The Truffle Afternoon Tea will be available for from the Thursday, 16 August to coincide with #AfternoonTeaWeek until Sunday 16 September.

The Truffle Afternoon Tea will use summer truffle from Italy within each of the savoury and sweet treats. Summer truffle is not as highly aromatic as the Winter White truffle but it still has the pungency characteristic of white truffle. Summer truffle is found in the same regions of Italy as the winter variety and is the exactly same variety of mushroom, only harvested during the summer instead of the winter. Whilst black truffles are more commonly used in cooking due to the longevity once out of the ground, white truffles are more delicate and fragile which is why their season is so short.

Executive Chef Claudio Covino says, “Summer truffle is delicious and aromatic but compared to winter white truffle it allows us to experiment due to having a larger quantity available. As a contemporary Italian restaurant, Il Pampero is delighted to be able to offer such a different experience for our guests.”

Priced from £65 per person or £75 per person for the addition of free flow Prosecco, The Truffle Afternoon Tea will be available from Thursday to Sunday every week between 16 August and 16 September 2018 from 2pm – 4pm at Il Pampero. The restaurant is located within The Hari Hotel, 20 Chesham Place. To book or for further information visit or call +44 (0) 7858 0100.
