A reflection on the life of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh

The directors and team of Walpole are deeply saddened to hear the news of His Royal Highness Prince Philip’s death.

As we reflect on his remarkable life, we share these images which we first exhibited in 2012 – in partnership with the Queen’s bank Coutts and photographic agency Getty – to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee. This exhibition, which showcased 60 years of photos of the Queen and Prince Philip and included some images never seen in public before, toured the capital stopping at iconic London landmarks and Walpole members including Claridge’s, Harrods and The Financial Times.

“His was an extraordinary life well lived. It was really interesting being part of the Countess of Wessex’s Duke of Edinburgh Awards Women in Business committee to see what he had set up with the Duke of Edinburgh Award – hundreds of thousands of children have learned skills and service and found reserves of confidence through the Awards scheme – it is a great legacy.”
