A Season of Luxury

Celebrate with... Lisa Redman, Couturier

Today’s Season of Luxury profile features couturier Lisa Redman, who is enjoying the best of both worlds and splitting her Christmas time between London and the countryside. She plans to make a visit or two to Claridge's Fumoir Bar, when she's not relaxing under a luxurious cashmere blanket on the sofa.

A Season of Luxury Celebrate with... Lisa Redman, Couturier

All I want for Christmas is…

To be happy at home with my loved ones. The year is so busy and this is one time that we all take some time off to rest and relax at home.

How will you be celebrating Christmas this year?

I will be celebrating Christmas in London with my immediate family, just the three of us. I really enjoy staying in London over the Christmas period because it’s so quiet. Most people have left, so you feel like you have the city to yourself - it’s quite magical. We will have lunch at home and then go for a walk through Hyde Park as the sun goes down. We then spend the rest of the time in the depths of the Sussex countryside where I grew up. It’s great to do both city and country.

Your favourite Christmas tradition?

Every year we have a real Christmas tree at home – I love decorating it while singing along to Christmas carols… Something I have done since a child with my parents.

Favourite festive film?

A Christmas Carol – you have to dedicate some time to watching the 1951 Charles Dickens classic. This has to be my all-time favourite Christmas story, I always read it to my son in the run-up to the big day.

Best place to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere?

I love going to Claridge’s at Christmas – it’s such a treat to go in and see the beautiful Christmas tree, which is always magically decorated by someone fabulous! My favourite is having a late night drink in the Fumoir Bar... Totally indulgent. You can't beat the old school glamour and festive feeling at a luxury London hotel.

Top tip for surviving the festive season in style?

My top tip is to get a sumptuous, luxurious cashmere blanket and hibernate on the sofa for the ultimate relaxation! This season we also have some beautiful handcrafted accessories in our collection, including hand-embellished bows and hairbands, and our signature must have: crystal and pearl adorned gloves that are available in a myriad of colours made to order.
