British Luxury Sustainability Manifesto

The Launch

“In sustainability, as in every other key industry issue, none of us can drive the change we need to see as individuals. But, if we come together, work collectively, share best practice, insights, suppliers, challenges, discoveries, then collectively we are incredibly powerful and able to build a more sustainable future for British luxury.”

Thank you to all Walpole members who attended the launch of our British Luxury Sustainability Manifesto, created in partnership with McKinsey & Co, at the magnificent Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square. The Manifesto was introduced by Walpole CEO Helen Brocklebank; Harrods MD and Walpole Chairman Michael Ward; and Burberry President Marco Gentile. Last night’s launch is just the beginning of our lofty ambitions to make British luxury the world leader in sustainability across four key pillars:

1. Lead the transition towards a circular economy

2. Safeguard the environment and natural resources

3. Guide partners + suppliers towards sustainable practices

4. Advocate equal and respectful working conditions,

The full Manifesto can be read by clicking here, and is outlined in the below images.

The Manifesto has been endorsed by Burberry, Harrods, dunhill, Johnstons of Elgin, Church's, The Savoy and Chivas Brother, who are united in their commitment to change #DecadeofAction. Please contact Charlotte Keesing for information on how to pledge your support.

Our thanks also go to the Four Seasons at Ten Trinity Square, FLOWERBX and Chapel Down
