Join the 2019 Walpole US Trade Delegation & British Luxury Showcase

In celebration of 4th July – American Independence Day – we today focus on Walpole’s third-annual British Luxury Trade Mission to the US, with Walpole members invited to join us in New York City from 22nd to 24th October.

The US continues to be a crucial market for the British luxury sector, with the latest figures from Global Blue revealing that the US is the UK’s top inbound tourism market by value; almost 3.9 million Americans visited the UK in 2018 spending £3.4 billion. The American market is still the largest market for luxury worldwide valued at $85 billion and New York alone accounts for almost one third of the total US luxury market size. It’s perhaps no surprise therefore that 75% of Walpole members identify the US as a priority growth market for the next five years.

Building on the success of the 2017 and 2018 Delegations, Walpole will once again present a packed schedule of events and activities in New York, including a media showcase, an influencer dinner, insights sessions, a cocktail reception and commercial meetings day, and Walpole members are invited to join the three-day mission. Last year, 20 members joined the delegation, which resulted in £750,000 of trade wins with another £250,000 in the pipeline for a number of the participating brands – as well as PR value of  $23,172,138.6o generated by the Media Showcase.
