We design and create remarkable objects. The why and the what is strictly a team effort. But, as virtually no physical element of these objects tends to exist before we’ve invented them (where would the fun be in that?) it usually falls to me to figure out the how.
I spent ten years working with my father – a cabinetmaker, designer, landscape architect and builder; honing my skills and learning to love the mental chess of practical problem-solving. Then, in 2009, my wife Marisa Giannasi (a talented architect and designer) and I established Method. Since then I’ve applied that obsession with perfecting details, and to developing considered junctions between components, to projects combining wood, leather, metal, stone, and glass for some of the most influential brands in the world.
WHY I LOVE IT...
I get to go to work every day and conjure up treasure. To take the spark of an idea, and through trial, error, care and experience – to make it whole. As if that wasn’t enough, I get to share that magical creative experience with my wife. (I also have a studio and workshop in a forest, next to a loch…and frankly, that’s bloody nice too)
