Just one? I have had memorable holidays in places like Namibia, Brazil, Positano and sailing across both the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, but ultimately my happy place is Forte dei Marmi. It’s a small resort town on the Tuscan coast where my family has been going for four generations. It’s slow living at its best.
What is your top tip for surviving the summer heat in style?
Embrace light fabrics like linen and don’t be afraid to add colour. An ice cold Negroni in-hand always helps. Ultimately though, the summer is all about winding down, spending time with friends and family, and having some fun.
Have you ever had a ‘lightbulb’ moment related to your business or career while taking some downtime?
Downtime, especially in the summer months in the Mediterranean, is key as it is when you truly get the chance to recharge your creative energy. I would say that most of my “better” ideas have come whilst sitting in the porch of my summer house in Tuscany.
What is your holiday read this year? Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albon. It’s about the authors rediscovery of his old college professor, Morrie Schwartz. The underlying theme is the value of people rather than material objects. The screen adaptation also happens to be Jack Lemmon’s last role.
Another great read this summer has been The Corner Office by Adam Bryant; indispensable and unexpected lessons from CEOs on how to lead and succeed.
