A Summer of Luxury Holiday with... Whitney Bromberg Hawkings, Founder of FLOWERBX
Where will you be holidaying this year? We are in Provence, in the middle of nowhere, subsisting on a diet of aubergines, courgettes, tomatoes, sunshine and love.

What is your ‘must-have’ item to pack in your suitcase?

Other than sunscreen and mosquito repellent, I came with a library of books, both for work and for pleasure, and my favourite Lisa Maria Fernandez swimsuits and coverups.

Where is your favourite al fresco drinking/dining spot?

A meal at La Colombe D’Or never disappoints, and is best finished with a stroll up the hill to the Maeght foundation.

What is your holiday read this year?

I just finished Three Women by Lisa Taddeo and immediately wished I could start it again. I also read Zero to One, notes on building the future by the founder of Peter Thiel (co-Founder of Paypal) which was very informative and inspiring.

Have you ever had a ‘lightbulb’ moment related to your business or career while taking some downtime?

YES! I had a major lightbulb moment just this week, but it is far too early to discuss!

FLOWERBX’s must-have summer flower?

Dahlia are summer’s standout star. The FLOWERBX Dahlia collection including summery favourites such as Sex on the Beach and Cosmopolitan are perfectly paired with our Windsor vase range or in our hand-blown Bailey Bud vases of varying shapes and heights for the perfect pairing.

What is FLOWERBX's key piece of summer advice?

Keep the flower arrangements simple but create drama with an abundance of these simple arrangements. Repetition works wonders at creating a chic table. I think a good rule of thumb is to keep flowers simple and tonal for an elegant and dramatic effect. For example, almost every shade of pink works together, as do clusters of different reds, or a sea of purples and blues.

Have FLOWERBX had any summer events this year?

We have had beautiful outdoor dinners for Moda Operandi in Paris, a private Art Dealer in the Hamptons and a beautiful celebration with Matches and Emilia Wickstead.
