How to have a Summer of Luxury with Milliner Vivien Sheriff

What is your must-have summer holiday accessory?

It goes without saying that a fabulous sun hat is the most important accessory for every summer holiday. We’ve collaborated with Silken Favours to create a limited-edition capsule collection of sumptuous silk scarves for SS19, all of which look fabulous wrapped around the crown of our summer fedoras. For sixties chic opt for a wide brimmed Italian straw hat with classic Petersham trim.

What events do you have planned this summer and beyond?

We opened the doors of our Wiltshire and London showrooms from August onwards to showcase our new Vivien Sheriff Spring/Summer 2020 collection. It’s an exciting time both for us, as we look ahead to next year’s season, and for our clients, as they get to see how and where we design our stunning collections.

Tell us about your latest product launches?

We're launching ourselves forwards to Spring Summer 2020 at the moment and the workshop is busy making and creating. While we never like to wish the sunshine away, we are also excited to launch our new Vivien Sheriff Autumn Winter 2019 collection.

What is your advice for dressing for (Indian) summer society events?

Comfort and elegance are key! If you’re investing in a fabulous outfit then it’s only fitting that you finish it with an equally fabulous headpiece. When we work with our private clients we always consider the etiquette of the occasion, the style and colour of their outfit and also the shape of their face. Where necessary we colour match the headpiece to the outfit to ensure the whole look is perfect.

For summer society events bright pops of colour or soft golds and blush colours work well. Some clients prefer our small disc style pieces or oversized headbands as they are lighter in the heat. A wonderfully dressed classic fedora is also a great choice. For summer weddings oversized boule discs always look fabulous.
