Saturday 5th October 2019
As featured in the Royal Wedding of Harry and Meghan, Sheku Kanneh-Mason (2016 Young Musician of the Year) debuts with the LPO on 5th October with the quintessentially British Elgar Cello Concerto – a work whose haunted poetry takes on a fresh meaning for each new generation of cellists.
Saturday 12th October 2019
In the summer, the LPO were delighted to announce the appointment of Edward Gardner as Conductor Designate of the Orchestra, taking up position at the end of Vladimir Jurowski’s tenure in 2021. Join Ed for an evening of great singing and uninhibited emotion with one of the mightiest choral masterpieces in the repertoire, delivered by a team of soloists worthy of a major operatic production.
Wednesday 23rd October 2019
Continuing the Isle of Noises series, come and enjoy Holst’s iconic masterpiece, The Planets – although famously not Holst’s favourite of his works, it has been adopted whole-heartedly into the hearts of classical music lovers. And what could be more apt for British luxury than ‘Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity’ a melody known throughout the United Kingdom in its guise as I Vow to Thee My Country.
