Awarded to the British luxury brands who have come together to create something unique, this year's nominees are: Belmond x LPO x Miller Harris; Belstaff x Leica; Farrow & Ball x The Natural History Museum; Ettinger x Rory Dobner; and Manolo Blahnik x The Wallace Collection.
Belmond x LPO x Miller Harris
The launch of Belmond’s Cadogan Hotel this year was marked by a unique, private concert with Jane Birkin and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Building on the Belmond ‘The Wonder Collection’, the partnership with the LPO introduced audiences to the wonderful world of Belmond through exceptional music performed in exceptional locations. Working with Miller Harris, who created ‘L’Air De Rien’ for Jane Birkin more than a decade ago, the concert was an unforgettable and collaborative way to celebrate the hotel’s legendary past as the hub of creative, bohemian Chelsea.
Belstaff x Leica
Leica and Belstaff launched an engaging photographic project with Leica Ambassador and photojournalist Emily Garthwaite to celebrate the Belstaff Icons collection. The project, titled ‘Everyday Heroes’, sees Garthwaite travel to the Highlands and islands of western Scotland to create an intimate and illuminating series of portraits of men and women whose skills and hard work allow local industries to thrive, while championing initiatives that focus on sustainability and empowering future generations to carry on their legacy.
Farrow & Ball x The Natural History Museum
Farrow & Ball created a new palette of 16 colours in collaboration with The Natural History Museum, inspired by the true colours of nature. It draws on the Museum’s world leading collection including its rare book library, which holds Werner’s Nomenclature of Colours, a colour guide used by Charles Darwin. Each shade has been blended with an eco-friendly water base that’s kinder to the environment.
Ettinger x Rory Dobner
To celebrate its 85th Anniversary, leather accessories brand Ettinger collaborated with renowned British artist Rory Dobner to create 85 limited-edition notebooks featuring exquisite Dobner drawings embossed into the leather cover and inside its pages. The paper notebooks were crafted by fellow Royal Warrant Holder, Barnard & Westwood and 15% of sale proceeds went to the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST).
Manolo Blahnik x The Wallace Collection
Manolo Blahnik is one of the world’s most influential and beguiling footwear designers. In June 2019, to celebrate the creative inspirations behind his designs, the brand presented ‘An Enquiring Mind: Manolo Blahnik at the Wallace Collection’. The exhibition, which opened on 10th of June and ran until 27th October 2019, featured a personally selected edit of shoe designs from Blahnik’s private archives set amongst the masterpieces of The Wallace Collection and introduced a new audience to The Wallace Collection, which saw a 30% uplift in visitors in the first two months of the exhibition alone.
