Today we begin profiling the exceptional brands nominated for the 2019 Walpole British Luxury Awards. We begin with Emerging Talent, in association with Mishcon de Reya.
Walpole is committed to nurturing and developing the luxury brands of the future, and this Award recognises the importance of creating that pipeline and celebrates outstanding up-and-coming British luxury brands who have the potential for true global success.

Alexandra Llewellyn is a London-based British designer, creating original and beautifully handcrafted backgammon sets, luxury games and bespoke furniture. Seen in some of the most exclusive locations, Alexandra’s timeless designs are played all over the world.
Castore is the world’s first truly premium sportswear brand for men, utilising specialist technical fabrics and advanced engineering to create garments of unrivalled quality. Founded by brothers Phil and Tom Beahon – both former professional athletes – the Castore DNA lies in a deep commitment to performance enhancement. This year has seen tennis player Andy Murray become a shareholder in the business, and the opening of its first flagship store on London’s King’s Road.
Cubitts, a modern spectacle makers, was founded in King’s Cross, London, and now has 10 Cubitts stores in the capital as well as a thriving online business. Cubitts’ frames are handmade in the traditional way, with a focus on simple, functional design, exceptional quality, and obsessive attention to the finest of details.
FLOWERBX is a curated online flower delivery service revolutionising the way people buy flowers.
