Walpole Collaboration MY WARDROBE HQ launches pre-loved boutique at Bicester Village

MY WARDROBE HQ, a Walpole Brand of Tomorrow 2021, and the UK’s first luxury rental and re-sale marketplace and Walpole Member Bicester Village together embrace the future of sustainable shopping and fully circular fashion, with a pop-up boutique of pre-loved items stocked from the wardrobes of the fashion re-commerce platform’s top vendors, open for 6 weeks from June 18th.

The new boutique at Bicester Village will be the first ever dedicated pre-loved store from MY WARDROBE HQ , and marks the next phase in the brand’s aim to encouraging customers to continue to support the fashion industry sustainably, by offering them new ways to shop and in encouraging more socially conscious consumption. The partnership between the two shopping destinations is symbolic of how fashion is changing- together they will cater to a millennial customer, with their mindset of investing in circular shopping and in key wardrobe items that last forever. The opening of the boutique will offer Bicester Village customers an opportunity to discover a more sustainable way of enjoying fashion.

Bicester Village is committed to supporting the pre loved market as this is so key to the circularity of all that we do here. Following on from the recent pop up with  SmartWorks and Brides Do Good, Bicester Village has hosted ‘Worn’ and now just opened My Wardrobe HQ which will be trading in the village for 6 weeks. We appreciate that our guests like the variety and breadth of brands and price points this offers as well as the chance to shop more sustainably” said a spokesperson from Bicester Village when asked about the collaboration.

Sacha Newall, Founder, MY WARDROBE HQ says : “There is a perfect synergy between Bicester Village and My Wardrobe HQ- our shoppers love a mix of global designer and homegrown British fashion talent, and we are both working to keep beautifully made garments in circulation for longer. We are very excited to join the Bicester Village community in June and July- My Wardrobe HQ was born in a thatched cottage 5 miles outside of Bicester and it feels like My Wardrobe HQ is coming home”.

Shoppers will discover beautiful designer clothing and accessories sourced by MWHQ from the wardrobes of their private vendors, including designers, celebrities and influencers, amongst many other stylish women across the UK. The items are a mix of new and past seasons, reinforcing the message that clothing can live beyond a current season, and encouraging people to join the MWHQ mission to buy better and to shop with less of an impact on the environment.

The value of unused clothing in wardrobes has been estimated at around £30 billion. The clothing and footwear industries account for a combined estimate of 8% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, and it is estimated that £140 million worth of clothing goes into landfill each year. MWHQ believe we can offer a real solution to this crisis, and Bicester Village will now aid them in their mission of extending the life cycle of each garment sold.
