Japan is a key market for British high-end creative brands - Burberry, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Speyside single malts, Savile Row tailoring and Scottish cashmere all have strong trading relationships in the region.
Walpole’s strategic and technical expertise can be enormously beneficial in supporting the government’s trade negotiations as they accelerate, and because of this we have worked to develop our relationships with the Department for International Trade. This effort has resulted in us being in a position to provide behind-the-scenes insight and analysis throughout every stage of the negotiation process for the Japan deal.
Collaboration between government and business is essential if we are to maximise the vision of global Britain as the country develops its first trade strategy in a generation. Walpole will continue to ensure that the DIT understands our sector’s needs and acts upon our trade and investment priorities and concerns.
