European Cultural & Creative Industries Alliance

Walpole is a founder of the European Cultural and Creative Industries Alliance (ECCIA), composed of the five national European luxury goods and creative industries organisations: Walpole; Circulo Fortuny (Spain); Comité Colbert (France); Fondazione Altagamma (Italy); and Meisterkreis (Germany). Collectively the ECCIA represents the interests of over 600 European high-end, creative and cultural businesses, with its work falling into three main areas of activity: protection of IP and governance of the internet; market access and tourism; and highlighting the role of the cultural and creative industries as a key driver of Europe’s overall economic health, competitiveness, innovation and employment.

An introduction to the aims and objectives of the ECCIA, as set out in 2012, can be read here: ECCIA Cultural and Creative Industries Overview

In light of Brexit and given that Walpole members will still trade with EU countries across the full supply chain/distribution model and that a number of our member brands are in European ownership, it is important that we continue to have a recognised voice in Europe and are redoubling our efforts with the ECCIA partners to ensure that European relationships are not only maintained but nurtured.
