On Wednesday 13th September 2023, a selection of our members from the hospitality sector and beyond gathered at The May Fair hotel just behind London's Berkeley Square for an event taking a deeper look at our The Art of British Luxury Hospitality report. Produced in collaboration with brand agency, Notable, the report explores the macro themes that are influencing high-end travellers' expectations of travel and luxury right now.
After a morning of networking over breakfast pastries, guests moved into the auditorium. Introduced by Walpole's Charlotte Keesing, the event started with a presentation from Notable's Tiffany Winter about the key trends highlighted in the report.
This was followed by an expert panel discussion featuring some of the most influential voices in luxury travel and hospitality, all speaking about the factors that they notice are influencing the decisions being made by luxury tourists – and how British high-end hospitality can capitalise on these.
The panel featured Charles Oak (Hotel Director, The Londoner), Julia Perowne (Founder and CEO, Perowne International), Jules Maury (Head of Programme, Scott Dunn Private), Gary Franklin (SVP for Trains & Cruises, Belmond), and Jenny Southan (Editor, Founder and CEO, GLOBETRENDER).
