Sixty years ago, James Bond's cinematic debut, Dr No, was released in the UK - marking the first step in the character's journey to becoming an international pop culture icon. To celebrate this momentous anniversary, Walpole Member Black Tomato (exclusive and first-ever travel partner to EON Productions) has developed a series of private, 007-inspired travel experiences, intended to give superfans a taste of the globetrotting lifestyle of the world's most famous superspy.
The inaugural adventure is set in the continent which has played host to myriad Bond film locations over the years: Europe. Working in close collaboration with the James Bond team, including some of their most longstanding location scouts, the debut trip will pay homage to 007’s inimitable style and excellence, enveloping many memorable scenes.
Lake Como will be the setting for this daring adventure. From the private jetty of your hotel, take inspiration from James Bond in Licence To Kill and water ski along the Moltrasio shoreline, before jumping aboard a private seaplane to continue your expedition. Take to the skies above the picturesque towns of Bellagio and Varenna, and SPECTRE agent Mr. White’s infamous lakeside home, Villa La Gaeta. This thrilling journey continues as you touch down, met by an iconic Bond wooden Riva boat and bottle of 007’s favourite, Champagne Bollinger. Speed off in style to the iconic Villa del Balbianello from Casino Royale (pictured above) to stroll the terraced gardens
This immersive adventure – with only 60 limited-edition bookable private trips – will be available for purchase later this year. Full details of the itinerary, which will allow travellers to follow in Bond’s footsteps, will be announced in March 2023. The experience starting in London as the home of Bond, will span arts and culture, action and adventure, with uncompromising luxury throughout. Expect cars, yachts, helicopters and iconic train journeys to feature throughout, together with high octane, enthralling adventures and experiences.
