When MONC's Founder, Freddie Elborne, left university to work at a design agency, an obsession with sunglasses combined with a long-term love of knowing how things are made. The result? An eyewear brand that "considers each component of the product, and redesigns and remodels it in a way that is better for the environment, higher quality, and more locally sourced."
Elborne wanted to resist the fast-consumerism environment of his upbringing, and to create instead a product that was reparable, that "could be passed down from generation to generation". He advises to listen to your hunches, but to ask for as much advice as possible – "people are more than willing to give it!"
