After a high-pressure week of meetings, management and making connections, the best way to unwind is to plug in your headphones and allow a superb selection of tunes to take your brain far away from the world of work. Enter the Walpole Weekend Wind-Down: a monthly playlist of tracks created by one of our members or partners that will help you transition into an end-of-week headspace.
Our August playlist has been curated by forward-thinking design consultancy, Matter Of Form. "We’re big on music at Matter Of Form, a given for creatives," explains Anant Sharma, Founder & CEO. "Perhaps more surprising is music’s fundamental role in the business' foundations. It was my DJ residency at Chinawhite that secured MOF’s first office space in Soho Square. Hugely off-brand, both in hindsight and at the time," he laughs.
Despite "occasionally questionable gigs," music has been a constant for Matter Of Form and for Sharma personally. A decade ago the whole company ventured to Wilderness Festival and a year ago Sharma played the Rabbit Hole at Glastonbury, which was a huge personal highlight. These days, Matter Of Form puts on its own mini festival in the countryside, "flimsily yet affectionately" named MOFStock.
This playlist has a number of genres, building from folk and guitar, into contemporary rock, cosmic disco and some atmospheric house. "It’s what's in my headphones at the moment," says Sharma. "I hope you like it. More on my Soundcloud, @mashington."
