This partnership is part of the celebrations around the fashion house’s centenary year and highlights the two brands' shared history. As a young man Gucci's founder, Guccio Gucci, worked at The Savoy as a luggage porter. Seeing the luxurious luggage and elegant clothes of the guests was a major impetus in his desire to start his own leather goods company, which happened shortly after his return to Italy from London. One hundred years later, The Savoy and Gucci have transformed The Savoy’s Royal Suite into a reflection of the Gucci world.
The new look has furniture, furnishings and decorative items from the Gucci Décor Collection, alongside art and antiquities specially curated by auctioneers Christie’s to harmonise with the Gucci aesthetic and the design and heritage of The Savoy. Spanning the fifth floor riverside, with its spectacular views and signature Savoy service The Royal Suite by Gucci is the most glamorous place to stay in London.
