The Londoner curates our latest Walpole Weekend Wind-Down playlist

After a high-pressure week of meetings, management and making connections, the best way to decompress is to plug in your headphones and allow a superb selection of tunes to take your brain far away from the world of work. Enter the Walpole Weekend Wind-Down: a monthly playlist of tracks curated by one of our Walpole Members or Partners that will help you transition into a weekend headspace.

Our May playlist has been created by Charles Oak, Hotel Director of The Londoner. Opened in 2021 on Leicester Square in the capital, this month this chic, super-boutique hotel will once again play host to the Walpole British Luxury Summit on Monday 15th May 2023.

With speakers including business guru Mary Portas, design powerhouse Thomas Heatherwick, iconic photographer Rankin and Bentley's dynamic CEO Adrian Hallmark amongst many others, it's set to be a stellar day of insight and inspiration. As you might expect from a hotel located both in the heart of London's West End and on a piazza that's the undisputed home of cinema, The Londoner frequently collaborates with the worlds of both theatre and movies. In fact the hotel's bar, aptly named The Stage, often pays tribute to the playhouses in the area through events and items on its menu – as well as the hotel regularly offering packages for overnight experiences that include tickets to the hottest productions and premieres.

Of course, Oak's playlist is infused with this too. You'll find hits from the silver screen and the stage, inlcuding Les Miserables, which is staged only a couple of streets away at the Sondheim Theatre. Have a listen below.
