Why are you taking part in the Walpole Summit?
I'm really looking forward to the industry gathering together to hear everyone's views, challenges and ambitions, and the opportunity for everyone to share their thoughts and ideas.
Can you give us a couple of the key insights you will share during the event?
I'll be discussing the future of retail and talking through solutions for the combination of planet and profit, and also commenting on what is the point of luxury in today’s world.
What do you see as the most important opportunities ahead for both your brand and the luxury sector?
I believe that local is going to be important; that sustainability and longevity is going to be important. I think the way we consume luxury is going to be key, so lots of challenges but also lots of opportunities.
What do you see as the greatest challenges ahead for both your brand and the luxury sector?
All of the above: how do we manage the environmental challenges whilst carrying on employing people, and transforming what was a bricks-and-mortar heavy world into something far more digital? And, above all, how do we keep consumption relevant in today’s world?
Why are these events so important to you, your business and the sector as a whole?
Gathering people and exchanging ideas is how we progress and how we learn; it has therefore never been more important to get everyone together to reflect on the period we have just been through, and, most importantly, to think about what lies ahead in the future.
