After a high-pressure week of meetings, management and making connections, the best way to decompress is to plug in your headphones and allow a superb selection of tunes to take your brain far away from world of work. Enter the Walpole Weekend Wind-Down: a monthly playlist of tracks curated by one of our Walpole members that will help you transition into a weekend headspace.
Our September playlist has been curated by Scottish distillery Eight Lands – or, more specifically, the company's founder Alex Christou. A graduate of the Walpole Brands of Tomorrow programme in 2021, Eight Lands makes award-winning gin and vodka using the finest Scottish spring water and 100% organic ingredients, specifically created for bartenders, at-home mixologists, and connoisseurs with an appreciation of distilling mastery.
“It feels fitting to take you on a musical journey at just the moment we seem to be transitioning out of summertime, towards autumn," says Alex of the playlist. "From jazz and soul, to hip hop and house, we’ve covered all bases. So make yourself an Eight Lands cocktail and let us help you unwind.”
And what do you know? We have just the thing courtesy of Josh Rosenbaum, Eight Lands' Brand Development Manager.
"As we are coming into the Autumn months, I think our Eight Lands Organic Gin ‘Martinez’ is the way to go," says Josh. "It’s one of my favourite rediscovered classics and has a nice amber colour to it, reminiscent of the falling leaves signalling the start of a new season."
Mix a cocktail as per Josh's instructions below, then simply press play, kick back and enjoy. Welcome to the weekend.
