After a high-pressure week of meetings, management and making connections, the best way to decompress is to plug in your headphones and allow a superb selection of tunes to take your brain far away from world of work. Enter the all-new Walpole Weekend Wind-Down: a monthly playlist of tracks curated by one of our Walpole members that will help you transition into a weekend headspace.

Our June playlist has been curated by the team at leading luxury lifestyle brand Mulberry in celebration of the opening of the label's shiny new stateside flagship store in New York. As you'll hear, the selection of songs is an instant hit of sultry summer serotonin – perfect for transporting your mind across the Atlantic whether you can make it to the Manhattan to visit the store in real life or not.

Situated in the heart of New York’s SoHo district, Mulberry’s new space boasts sumptuous, tactile interiors in line with Mulberry’s store concept by Studio Toogood, featuring furnishings inspired by the natural textures of the English countryside, in homage to the brand’s rich British heritage (pictured below, left).

The space also features artworks by three British creatives, with sculptural ceramics from Adam Ross, fired vessels by Deiniol Williams and pieces created from plaster, wax and pigment by Harminder Judge decorating the space. The three creative’s works reflect Mulberry’s approach to craft and colour. In addition to the women’s and men’s AW22 bags and accessories collections, visitors are able to purchase a selection of pre-loved Mulberry bags as part of the Mulberry Exchange, the brand’s circular economy programme.

In conjunction with the opening, Mulberry has also launched a creative campaign with the model, knitwear designer and resident New Yorker Ella Emhoff (pictured below). Inspired by its newest bag, the Softie (pictured above, right), the campaign also features in Mulberry’s limited-edition ‘Softie’ zine (also available to pick up at the Wooster Street store), alongside poems from New York’s artistic scene, bringing to life the emotive sensibilities of softness.

Emhoff, as one of fashion’s freshest voices and whose passion for responsible craft is at the heart of her own newly launched knitwear label, perfectly embodies the free-spirited mood of the Mulberry 100 Wooster Street campaign. Photographed by Luisa Opalesky, the viewer is invited on a journey with Emhoff through the city, experiencing the joy and abandon it gives her with her huggable Softie bag as her constant companion.

Visitors to 100 Wooster Street will be able to discover the women’s and men’s AW22 bags and accessories collections, and a selection of pre-loved items from the Mulberry Exchange, the brand’s circular economy programme. June also sees the launch of the Softie’s new White colourway (pictured above) and a limited-edition Alexa in patchwork leather which has been created exclusively for the 100 Wooster Street store to celebrate the opening.
