This morning, storied British menswear label and Walpole member dunhill revealed its new season collection for Autumn/Winter 2023 – its first major event following the departure of Mark Weston as Creative Director last week. In a demonstration of the brand's current repositioning strategy that emphasises the house's intimate connection to the British tailoring scene for its 130th anniversary, this collection (created by the company's in-house design team) focuses on refined, elevated, versatile pieces imbued with a discreet sense of classic English style. You'll see this in the inclusion of not only items that are synonymous with our country (such as a sleek, brown duffle coat and a square-shoulderd double-breasted navy suit jacket), but also in very design of the pieces: focusing on British mills, fabrics and patterns.
"To wear a dunhill suit today is to embody the values of the House," said Laurent Malecaze, Dunhill CEO, of the collection. "The appreciation of expert care, and craft that is invested in each piece. We have a responsibility to create collections that are not only beautiful but endure seasons and trends.”
“The new dunhill collection nails the enduring appeal of urbane, sleek, considered British style," said Helen Brocklebank, Chief Executive of Walpole. "The emphasis on English tailoring cues, so deeply woven into dunhill's DNA, and the careful, elegant focus on the finest fabrics, makes for a dunhill look that is both timeless and also perfectly reflects the mood of now."
