Uniquely groundbreaking and exhilarating to watch and hear, the London Philharmonic Orchestra has been celebrated as one of the world’s great orchestras since it was founded in 1932.

Based at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, London Philharmonic Orchestra is at the heart of London’s cultural life, with residencies across the UK and regular tours across the globe. In 2024, the organisation marked 60 years as Resident Symphony Orchestra at Glyndebourne Festival Opera.

Edward Gardner has been Principal Conductor since 2021, succeeding Vladimir Jurowski (now Conductor Emeritus), and Karina Canellakis is Principal Guest Conductor.

One of the world’s most-streamed orchestras, London Philharmonic Orchestra is also one of the most successful worldwide on social media and online. Our sound features on countless film scores, and its own LPO Label celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025. Through its Education and Community programme, the organisation inspire young musicians – from first encounters with music to developing the next generation of professionals.
