Meet the Team Get to know Isabel Stewart, Walpole's Head of Events (Maternity Cover)

When did you join Walpole and how did you come to work here?

I joined in April 2023. Walpole actually used to be a client of mine several years ago. I saw Olivia Lowdell post about needing maternity cover on LinkedIn and here we are!

What do you do at Walpole?

I am the Head of Events (Maternity Cover),so I plan all the Walpole in-person and online events with Bethanie, our Events and Marketing Manager, and manage the Walpole event strategy.

What’s your favourite aspect of your job?

That is actually a hard one to choose, there are so many things. I would say my favourite part is getting to work with all of our amazing members and collaborating with them to create amazing events. Being able to put on events in all the best London hotels and venues is pretty incredible.

What piece of advice would you give yourself when you were starting out in your career?

To mind your priorities, that ultimately work is a part of our lives and not the definition. To not love a business (that you don’t own!) more than you love your own time, health, and life.

Quickfire round

The best place for a work breakfast in London is: I have never done a work breakfast! If I had to dream, it would be at The Lanesborough and would be an omelette with peppers, spinach and chillies.

My office beverage of choice is: I'm going to get a lot of weird looks here but just a hot water.

The last thing I read/listened to on my commute was: The Power of Geography by Tim Marshall.

The ultimate luxury under £25 is: Neal’s Yard Remedies' Seaweed and Arnica Bath Salts – it's fantastic for relaxing achy muscles.
