Buyers gather around with enquiries about speed, efficiency and value for money before checking under the hood. However, this isn't a luxury car showroom; it’s a gathering of falconers, many of them parting with impressive sums of money for prized birds, especially those from British bloodlines. It all takes place at the annual Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), where over 100,000 visitors will once again gather to celebrate and invest in their national obsession at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the year taking place from 26th September to 2nd October 2022 with the theme: "Sustainability and Heritage... A Reborn Aspiration".
ADIHEX 2022 will take place over 50,000 square metres of exhibition space, offering more than 680 exhibitors showcasing the very latest technologies, innovations and trends in equestrian, hunting and camping gears.
Falcons have been revered in these parts for many centuries. Indeed, the Arabic language contains more than 1,500 terms for falcons and falconry, and the birds themselves are a common sight worn on the wrists of young men like weighty timepieces: symbols of taste, influence and status. During the winter months, when temperatures are optimal for these magnificent birds, major hunts and races are contested for bulging prize purses for the winners.
So sets the scene for ADIHEX and The Game Fair’s British Pavilion which aims to showcase the best of what our country has to offer this clientele, capitalising on the vast audience of consumers and trade buyers who scour the halls for luxury and quality. Last year, the British Pavilion successfully displayed art and sculpture, Holland & Holland shotguns and even English Tea, which delighted buyers across the course of the five-day event.
Subsidised prices make exhibiting possible for just £10,000 including flights and accommodation for two members of staff. The Government’s Internationalisation fund can provide successful applicants with half of that making participation in the Pavilion very attractive.
