"Late summer evening light can be really dreamy, so try shooting with your back to the light to illuminate your subject and to create a striking look," says Charlie Lockyer, a photographer who also teaches at the Leica Akademie, which offers an exciting programme of tutorials and workshops to inspire photographers whatever their skill level.
"Pack light and head out. With the longer days, summer is a great time to wander and see where your camera takes you. If you simply walk without much of a concept, you never know what pictures you might make.
"With the abundance of good light, summer is a great time to experiment with your exposure settings to create a more abstract look. Try decreasing your exposure, for example, and have fun shooting some silhouettes.
"Be careful when shooting in harsh light. For example, if you want to shoot a portrait in the middle of the day, try to find some shade to put your subject in and enjoy the softer lighting."
