In a world where we’re always available, how do you separate your personal time from your work time?
I have always been reasonably good at splitting work from personal time. For example, I rarely work on the weekends, which allows for a great break between the working weeks.
What’s one thing you do after the work day to help you unwind?
Have a glass of wine! I love red wine. My favourite is a South African wine called The Chocolate Block. Meerlust Rubicon is another favourite.
What activity do you do in your time away from the office that helps you relax and recentre after a stressful week?
I read, play games on my ipad (word games, especially), walk the dog, see friends and family, and have my pilates lesson.
What’s something you’ve read, listened to or seen in your spare time that’s helped you at work?
To be honest, nothing jumps to mind. It’s really a cumulation of what I’m seeing and hearing that helps me at work.
After home and the office, where’s your favourite third space?
My sister’s home. It’s in a sweet village and it’s a quirky house with a great garden and lovely views of the river, the Ness and the North Sea.
On Sunday night, how do you prepare yourself for the week ahead?
On occasion I might clear emails in advance of the week ahead, but I save them in my drafts and send them on a Monday morning. Often, Sunday is a TV night for me!
Best reason you've had to turn your out of office on recently?
A holiday in St Lucia.
Your go-to Out of Office outfit: Jeans.
Your happy place anywhere in the world: Moremi, Botswana.
Your favourite bar or restaurant: Louie on West Street in London and a bar called These in Tokyo.
Something you booked recently that you'd recommend: Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirror Rooms at the Tate Modern.
Something you've listened to or read recently that you'd recommend: I always would recommend Conde Nast Traveller.
Hobby you'd like to cultivate: Improving my photography and my piano playing.
Luxury that’s actually a necessity: A summer holiday in the winter (St Lucia, Mauritius or South Africa).
Best luxury under £25: A hot water bottle - mine is from Japan and somehow maintains its heat pretty much throughout the night.
