Celebrate Scottish Craft at Mount St. Restaurant. The Scottish Room at Mount St. Restaurant sees a day of programmed events led by basket-maker Helen Jackson, ceramicist Kevin Andrew Morris and director of Craft Scotland, Irene Kernan.
Join at 10.30am for an illustrated talk and display of work by Scottish ceramicist Kevin Andrew Morris. Initially motivated by an investigation of his own family heritage and material culture, Kevin’s recent work engages with concepts of craft, material and place, often exploring themes of multigenerational craft and food cultures.
At 12pm, director of Craft Scotland, Irene Kernan, is in conversation with ceramicist Kevin Andrew Morris and basket-maker Helen Jackson to explore how themes of heritage, landscape and place influence their respective practices and how these themes resonate more widely throughout Scotland’s contemporary craft sector.
The makers also discuss their individual commissioned work for Artfarm’s award-winning Fish Shop restaurants in Scotland and Washington DC, comprising Helen’s striking installation of over 100 willow fish and Kevin’s handcrafted, glazed tableware.
At 2pm, discover the deeply satisfying process of making string using leaves and stems during a hands-on workshop with Scottish basket-maker Helen Jackson. The workshop is accompanied by a display of Helen’s extraordinary baskets and woven items.

London Craft Week presents the second edition of its charitable initiative, Secret Ceramics, in partnership with FiredUp4, co-founded by Kate Malone MBE.
For the first time, the exhibition takes place at Christie’s, featuring 100 ceramic works by leading and emerging artists. As the names suggest, the artist’s identity will only be revealed after purchase and visitors have the chance to acquire works, at a fixed price, from the likes of Claudia Rankin, Hitomi Hosono, Dimitris Papailias (Sway Ceramics), Bouke de Vries, Emily Myers, Freya Bramble Carter, Kate Malone, Gregory Tingay and Sophie Wilson.
Last year, LCW proudly achieved its goal and proceeds funded a FiredUp4 ceramic studio at WEST Youth Zone, White City. This year, funds will cover the annual running costs of all four FiredUp4 studios in London — WEST, Barnet, Barking & Dagenham and Croydon — giving young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access to the transformative power of clay.

This thoughtfully curated showcase brings together innovative contemporary teawares crafted by some of the UK’s most talented silversmiths and ceramicists, all available to purchase.
Set within Newby London’s elegant tea showroom, the exhibition features work by renowned silversmiths including Abigail Brown, Alex O’Connor, Alice Fry, Annabel Hood, Caius Bearder, Cara Murphy, Chris Knight, Clive Burr, Colette Bishop, James Dougall, Kathryn Hinton, Martyn Pugh, Rauni Higson, Rebecca Oldfield and Yusuke Yamamoto, and ceramicists Chris Keenan, Jeremy Nichols, Sasha Wardell and Walter Keeler alongside exquisite and rare teas.

Additionally, attendees are invited to explore the Chitra Collection, an extraordinary private museum featuring nearly 3,000 historic teawares from Europe, Asia and the Americas.

The Goldsmiths’ Centre, a stone’s throw from Hatton Garden, supports the jewellery and silversmithing industry to embrace learning as an essential lifelong practice. Vispring showcases its rich heritage of traditional British craftsmanship with a side-stitch demonstration and panel discussion. Hosted at its flagship Regent Street showroom, Vispring looks forward to welcoming visitors to witness its design mastery firsthand.
Joining Vispring for the panel discussion, broadcaster and smallholder Kate Humble discusses the evolving landscape of traditional British craft skills in the design industry today, notably focusing on the use of natural materials, including British wool. In 2025, the notion, ‘buy once, buy well’ is making a comeback, with a gradual return in appreciation for longevity in design and the value of buying to last. The panel discusses this, along with the importance of provenance of materials, local sourcing and sustainability for producers, manufacturers and consumers.

Young V&A x London College of Fashion: The Shed Takeover

Join the Young V&A for the final week of London College of Fashion’s ‘Contemporary Jewellery’ takeover of The Shed. Tutors Bernadette Deddens, Carol Wiseman-Watts, Husam El Odeh and Dr Mala Siamptani alongside alumni have developed and delivered a series of Ancient Egyptian-inspired workshops. These range from protective charms and symbolism in amulet-making to exploring exquisite and intricate beadwork with paper-beaded bodices. Their responses aim to showcase how contemporary makers take inspiration from historic objects and approaches to creativity.
Young V&A is a museum sparking creativity now and for the future, with spaces to imagine, play and design. Created with 0–14-year-olds, it is a place for young people and grown-ups to be inspired by the power of creativity and discover the creative possibilities of our national collections. The Shed is a studio for makers and designers to create work and visitors to gain rare insight into a busy design studio.
BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery is an idea-led design course that uses fashion jewellery as a medium for students to find their voice and develop their vision. The course is set to support students in becoming informed and inspirational fashion jewellery designers who can innovate and challenge the industry through a unique approach to their practice.
The course teaches a wide range of approaches to manufacturing that include traditional and new technologies as well as digital approaches. Design thinking, cultural and contextual awareness and professional communication and presentation skills support the students to become designers who can respond to the demands and challenges of our times. With an experiential and transformative curriculum, the course is grounded in dialogue and uses jewellery as a medium to express ideas. Recognising the cultural capital and lived experiences of students, the course fosters the development of unique design identities while equipping them with transferrable skills valuable across the broader creative industry.
