A multi-hyphenate brand builder and storyteller, Nimi Raja is an award-winning strategist with over twenty years’ experience in helping brands grow, both culturally and commercially. She has worked with some of the world’s most innovative and progressive brands from Google and The Guardian to Depop, Balmain and De Beers. She was the strategic lead behind the launch of cult beauty brand Augustinus Bader which reached a $70million valuation in just under five years. Over the last ten years, she has been a pioneering force in developing the intersection between brand and entertainment, leading a partnership between Warner Brothers and Turkish Airlines, a full strategic repositioning of the A&E Network, development of an entertainment-led strategy for Balmain, and developed a proposition for ITV2.

As Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Entertainment Development at Rankin Creative (the multimedia company of the eponymous photographer and director), she launched the entertainment division to bridge the gap between brand, editorial, talent and entertainment. This resulted in a full strategic repositioning for De Beers, a strategic repositioning and short form film series for Mercedes-AMG, an award winning short film for the LGBTQIA+ support line Switchboard, and a series of short films for the British Fashion Council. She was also a contributing editor and writer for Hunger magazine.

Over the course of 2024, she was the fractional CBO for a multimedia venture led by the Hollywood actor Gillian Anderson that will span entertainment, editorial and consumer goods. Her role also included development of the slate.  As the venture continues its Series A fundraise, she continues in an advisory capacity. 

Raja has since launched Lola6: a creative company that sits at the intersection of entertainment, talent and brand. She’s also a regular contributor to Walpole, contributing editor to Dirty magazine in India, writer for indie film authority Directors Notes, UK-based brand developer for Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, and founder of her own label, Rani by Raja, supporting charities such as Southall Black Sisters through fashion. 

Nimi’s extensive experience has solidified her belief in a multi-hyphenate approach to storytelling and brand building, complementing her core expertise in strategy.
