UKCVA breakfast briefing

UKCVA breakfast briefing

2nd Mar 2017
You are invited to an exclusive UKCVA breakfast briefing to discuss the next steps in our campaign to encourage more Chinese visitors to the UK. Thursday 2nd March 2017 8.30am - 10am Le Méridien Piccadilly Hotel, London W1J 0BH Walpole is a founding member of the UK China Visa Alliance, an organisation working with the government to encourage more Chinese tourists to the UK by making the visitor visa application system easier. The UKCVA has had great success in persuading the government to adopt a one-stop-shop approach to applying for both a UK and Schengen visa so more Chinese visitors can add the UK to a multi-country European trip. Following our lobbying, the government has also changed from a six-month standard visa to a two-year visa with a commitment to introducing a 10-year visa as standard. Although the fall in the value of the pound following Brexit has seen Chinese spending increase recently in the UK, we are concerned there are many changes happening in Schengen which may reduce future number of Chinese visitors. The UKCVA breakfast meeting will look at progress of our campaign so far, possible threats and opportunities, and outline a programme of further work. Please click here for more information.
