British Luxury in NYC Kathryn Sargent
Why is the US such an important market for your brand?

There has always been an appreciation for British craftsmanship in America, in particular for Savile Row tailoring. The quality of our work is the best in the world and is truly desired by clients and admired by people located all over the world, in particular by clients based in the US. I travel regularly on trunk shows to meet with my clients in cities such as New York, Chicago and Washington DC, as a good proportion of our clients are based there.

What is your key aim of participating in the Walpole Trade Delegation?

I would love to drive further brand awareness in the US, the opportunity to represent the very best of British Luxury tailoring amongst other Walpole member businesses in New York collectively is fantastic. I aim to grow my business and client base in the US and use this unique occasion to introduce people to our brand and show them the endless possibilities of our luxury tailoring service.

What will you be showcasing during the trip?

I will be showcasing some unique handmade bespoke pieces and some new exciting garments from my crafted made-to-measure service, which have been created for special occasions and situations such as the evening, the countryside, business, and travel for both men and women. I have created a capsule business wardrobe offering that is aimed at the female business traveller: it performs, it fits and it makes packing for a business trip effortless!

What is the one thing you’d like the US customer to know about your brand?

Kathryn Sargent is London’s only female Master Tailor and is leading the next era of Savile Row bespoke tailoring houses at her eponymous business Kathryn Sargent Bespoke Tailoring. Breaking with tradition, she offers tailoring for both men and women. A piece by Kathryn Sargent is unique, Kathryn brings a woman’s eye, ear, and hand to the craft of traditional Savile Row tailoring. Focusing on the needs of the client rather than a set house style, Kathryn advises and collaborates creating garments that bear some of her signature elements but are entirely individual to each client.
