Yesterday morning Walpole brought together 20 of our members for a tour of Manolo Blahnik's enchanting new exhibition Enquiring Mind at the Wallace Collection.
Set against the backdrop of the masterpieces of the museum at Hertford House, the exhibition features shoe designs from Manolo Blahnik's private archives, all of which were inspired by the Wallace Collection itself.
Not only does one look at the treasures in the Wallace Collection with fresh eyes, it also reminds one (as if one needed reminding) how masterly Manolo Blahnik is, and how his references and inspirations come from sublime and diverse sources in art, literature and film.
