TELL US WHAT YOU DO?

Working largely to commission, we use luxurious embellishment and fabric manipulation techniques to adorn furniture and surfaces. Specialist leather work is also a great passion! Our clients want something that has never been seen before - that is absolutely unique. My team recently hand-cut several thousand leather petals for a decorative upholstered wall with tiny climbing vines and flowers and added embroidery and hand beading. Another commission involved setting four kilometres of tiny silver and bronze bracelet chain into leather with painstaking accuracy. This sort of work is blissfully slow and methodical and always to perfection.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

I love the combination of creativity and problem solving. My team have the minds of engineers often making their own hand tools and implements to help to perfect a piece. We are constantly learning and innovating and are obsessed with the final finish. People often ask me about quality control but I think the mark of a true craftsperson is that he or she is naturally fastidious and can’t rest until it is just right.
